Correction/Retraction:  In the previous news story "Madison Journal Entry/World Cup Results", it was stated that in the 1000m races "Shani Davis came in 5th to make it the first final he's made it to in short track World Cup skating this season."  In fact it was his second.  He also made it to the final of the 1500m the day before.  Many thanks to Alert Fan Anabele Porovsky for sending in this correction.  My apologies for the mistake.

MADISON JOURNAL ENTRY
WORLD CUP RESULTS
Sunday, November 28, 2004

Jonathan has added his most recent journal entry from November 25th is on the "Jo's Journal" page (click the button for it to the left, then click the November/Novembre 2004 link on that page).  He talks about his Beijing performance and his hopes for Madison, Wisconsin.  It's a GREAT entry!!

In his only individual distance skated in Madison, Jo missed getting the bronze by only 18/100ths of a second!!!!!  This was his first final of the World Cup season this year (so congratulations on making that!) and the winners of gold, silver and bronze were Ohno, Turcotte and Hamelin respectively.  Shani Davis came in 5th to make it the first final he's made it to in short track World Cup skating this season as well (congratulations to you, too!).  Interesting.  All North Americans at the North American World Cup.  That may be the first time I've ever seen that in a final.

Korea was not in attendance at this World Cup, neither the men nor the women.

There is not yet a photo of the 5000m relay race, but Canada came in first for a gold in Madison, clocking 4:49.462!!!  WOO-HOO!  China and Japan got silver and Bronze and Great Britain came in 4th.

Below are his photos of the 1000m semifinal and a shot taken by Ashley Rees.  Apolo snacks while Jonathan (longer blond hair, pale green shirt) looks at the action on the ice.
